Madpoetix Productions is based in Tio’tia:ke (Montréal). Our workshops and events are hosted in partnership with communal and cultural venues across the city, including the Maison France-Montréal, the U.I.B.E. offices and the Black Healing Centre.
“This workshop allowed me to explore and expand. This is my first time writing with the intent to share as a spoken word artist/storyteller, and I enjoyed the prompts.”
“Prompts were unexpected and challenging, yet when you sit down with a timer and a social contract, something comes out of it. And it’s better than what I expected from a first draft.”
“The improv poetry readings stood out. It’s fascinating to see how more impactful a piece can be when acting as a character and breaking the fourth wall.”
“The distraction exercise taught me that I need to learn to use my body and presence to grab attention and maintain it… it revealed that I’m still holding back my voice.”
Our vision is expanding. We are working towards becoming a charitable organization, securing a permanent home, and establishing scholarships to support BIPOC artists in Montreal for generations to come. Join us in this mission.
